How do REALTORS® Give Back?

REALTORS® and REALTOR® associations are not just business professionals; they are pillars of their communities and unwavering champions of charity and service. These dedicated men and women love their community and recognize the pivotal role of charitable activities in sustaining the diversity and character of the neighborhoods they work in. By immersing themselves deeply in their towns and cities, real estate experts establish themselves as individuals who genuinely understand and care about their local areas. This not only fortifies the bonds within the community but also bolsters trust and name recognition among the general public.

The Community Aid and Real Estate Report, affectionately known as the CARE Report, is an invaluable resource from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). It sheds light on the financial and volunteer contributions made by REALTORS® to their communities. Even amidst a changing real estate climate, REALTORS® have remained steadfast in their commitment to philanthropy.

Charitable activities, too, have been consistently upheld as a priority for REALTORS®. This resolute dedication underlines their unwavering commitment to the communities they serve. A notable aspect is that a substantial number of REALTORS® have been actively involved in volunteering, particularly in food delivery for the elderly or lending their hands to food banks. In fact, a resounding 83% of REALTORS® have emphasized the significance of community involvement in their business plans.

In your own local community, your REALTORS® are no exception to this ethos of giving back. The Snohomish County-Camano Association REALTORS® (SCCAR) stands as a shining example of this commitment. SCCAR hosts multiple charitable events every year, showcasing their unwavering dedication to giving back to the community. One of their prominent initiatives is the annual Food Drive – a yearly testament to their unwavering commitment to charity.

The SCCAR Food Drive spans the entire month of October, involving many REALTOR® offices spread across Snohomish County and Camano Island. These offices actively collect both monetary contributions and food items, which are then distributed to local food banks. SCCAR collaborates closely with Volunteers of America Western Washington for this noble endeavor, extending its support to multiple local food banks in the region.

In past years, REALTORS® have collected thousands of pounds of food and raised tens of thousands of dollars for food banks across Snohomish County and Camano Island. Anticipating this year’s Food Drive, SCCAR President Julie Love stated, “We're thrilled for this year's Food Drive and eager to make a meaningful impact in the community. Serving our community is at the heart of what we do as REALTORS®.”

The spirit of charity and service runs deep in the hearts of REALTORS® and their associations. Their ongoing dedication to their communities, even in the face of demanding real estate markets, underscores their genuine commitment to making a positive difference where it matters most—right at home. As we witness their unyielding efforts in the realm of charity and service, we are reminded of the immense impact these professionals have in strengthening the fabric of our communities.
